Mods for Controllers

What can we do?

  • Fix stick drift with upgraded joysticks, TMR is the newest tech. Seems to be sticking around.

  • The plastic "shell" can be swapped to make it pretty, triggers can be modified, extended batteries, and blinken lights added.

  • Mods are discounted if you send more than one controller in, or want multiple mods.

Nintendo

Joy-con and Pro Controllers

Switch TMR upgrade

$65 / pair

The Switch product team chose cheaper materials, which means drifting JoyCons.  N-corp will replace them for free since they got sued, but put the old crummy tech in again

Choose this to have both sticks upgraded to an actually GOOD technology

Switch Pro Controller TMR upgrade

$75

Premium feel, great design, and a steep price tag.  Nintendo went cheap for the sticks again.  Upgrades are much desired on this controller.

Switch 2 Joy-Con TMR upgrade

available soon

No longer marketed as a toy, Nintendo still chose cheap joysticks on their fastest, most expensive hardware to date. Huh.

(as of 2026, sticks still in pre-production)

Older Controller? Contact us.

Sony

DualShock and DualSense

DualSense / Edge TMR Upgrade

$75

Joysticks

  • Possibly the best modern controller on shelves, yet the manufacturer chose to cheap out on the Joysticks. VERY difficult for new techs, easy for us.

Reshell

  • Set your favorite controller apart with a sweet new shell from ExtremeRate

Clicky Button Mod

  • Instant mouse button-llke click, no mushy rubber pads. For buttons and/or D-Pad. Fighting game enthusiasts love this one.

DualShock 4 TMR Upgrade

$75

Joysticks

  • The GOAT has a major design flaw... Stick Drift! Upgrade yours to TMR technology to fix this flaw.

USB-C charging

  • USB-C mod to modernize also available.  Micro-USB begone.

Reshell

  • Some DS4 controllers have new shells available. Make your controller pretty.

DS3 Hall Effect swap

$75

Joysticks

  • In a rare pro-consumer move, these mostly shipped with mid-quality hall effect sticks! However, they are aging, the plastic cracks apart internally. DS3 are often modded with stronger, newer Hall effect sticks. No one seems to make TMR for it.

USB-C charging

  • mods also available! Look at that dumb Mini-USB still there

PSP / Vita Joysticks

$75-$135

Joystick Replacement

  • These joysticks featured high-quality internals from the factory, seldom malfunction, and usually only need replacement when cracked or drifty. Nice one, Sony.

Thumbstick

  • The thumbstick on the PSP is also pretty good quality, usually just needs cleaning and a new rubber bit, but just in case it drifts, we can replace it

XBOX

XBOX One, Series, and Elite Wireless Controller

XBOX Wireless Controller (One, One S)

$75

Released in 2013, revised in 2015 with a headphone jack.  Commonly known as the "XBOX One Wireless Controller"

These earlier models had no bluetooth, bumper woes, and used low-ish quality sticks but were quite beefy/sturdy and able to charge a battery pack via the micro-USB port.

  • TMR is a common mod for these. Send yours in.
  • TMR is compatible with the magenetic hall effect sensor in the triggers.
  • USB-C charging is available with iffy battery cover mods (cheap), or USB-C port mods (less cheap).

XBOX (Series X/S)

$75

Microsoft kept improving the design with each revision. Bluetooth was added in version 3, low energy Bluetooth in version 4. Also a "share" button. The newer revisions still use lowish quality sticks and AA Batteries

Upgrades to TMR are very popular.

USB-C charging is available with iffy battery cover mods (cheap), or USB-C port mods (less cheap).

XBOX Elite Original

$75

Elite Controllers have two models

The first Elite was unveiled in 2015. It uses the same sticks as the non-Elite, as well as AA batteries.

TMR Upgrades are quite recommended on Elite and Elite 2 controllers.

USB-C charging is available with iffy battery cover mods (cheap), or USB-C port mods (less cheap).

XBOX Elite, Series 2

$75

The second Elite revision is a major one. Series 2, was announced in 2019 and includes USB-C charging and an internal Li-Po battery. It uses improved, but still drifty sticks.

TMR Upgrades are quite recommended on Elite and Elite Series 2 controllers.

USB-C charging is built-in for Series 2 controllers.

Other Handhelds

Asus / Lenovo / GPD

Multiple hundreds of other gaming handhelds exist. They also get drift. Contact us if you need one not listed.

Asus ROG Ally X

$75

Asus chose Hall-Effect sticks for the Ally X which is great

Mods are cheaper as a bundle, most services have money saving optional add-ons. Feel free to reach out for bulk orders, we are quite reasonable.
